THE JOHN SCOTT ARMCHAIR WALKING TOURS – FALL, 2011
"WEST NYACK, FACT OR FICTION?" will be presented by BERT DAHM, native and life long resident of West Nyack. He will present the history, mystery and lore of this Clarkstown hamlet, including glimpses into NY's last witch trial, the sunken railroad engine that lost its way, the origins of the Nyack Turnpike and the grand old hotel and restaurant that still stands at Clarksville corners. Many old photographs will enhance this story of "the other Nyack".
The program will be presented first at the Nyack Library, 59 S. Broadway, at 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening, October 12, 2011 and will be repeated the following afternoon, Thursday, October 13 at 2:00 PM at the Congers Lake Community Center in Congers Lake Park, off Gilcrest Road in Congers.
