League Of Women Voters Releases Dates Of Virtual Candidate Forums
Primary candidates in Congressional Districts 16 and 17 will participate in the three scheduled forums starting next week.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The best chances for voters to get to know the candidates vying for national office are coming up and there's still a chance to submit questions.
The League of Women Voters (LWV) has announced the dates for its live virtual forums with primary candidates in Congressional Districts 16 and 17.
The League of Women Voters of Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Dutchess Counties will host the following virtual candidate forums via Zoom:

- U.S. Congressional District 16 Democratic: July 25, at 7 p.m.
- U.S. Congressional District 17 Republican: July 28, at 7 p.m.
- U.S. Congressional District 17 Democratic: August 1, at 7 p.m.
- U.S. Congressional District 16 Republican is uncontested.
Members of the public are required to pre-register for any of the live forums on the website. Questions may also be submitted at the same address.
Forum replays will be available on the website as well, along with other local League websites and social media pages. Local cable groups are invited to replay the entire forum, according to the League Video Recording Policy, through Primary Election Day on August 23. Early voting will take place August 13 - 21.

The mission of the League of Women Voters and its local affiliates is to empower voters by promoting informed citizen participation in government, and defending democracy. The LWV is non-partisan and does not support or oppose individual candidates or parties.
"With the newly redistricted U.S. Congressional Districts 16 and 17, voters are eager to submit questions to the candidates and learn how each candidate will address their concerns and best represent them in the House of Representatives," Kathy Meany, President of the League of Women Voters of Westchester said. She added that voters may locate their districts here.
The moderators for the candidate forums are LWVW-trained moderators residing outside of the assigned districts.
