HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Gear up for a winter storm at the end of the week, bringing that special Hudson Valley wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow.

With highs in the low 40s and upper 30s, we won't see much snow, but the wave of cold air coming with the precipitation could make the Friday morning commute rather slippery.

Hudson Valley Weather just issued a preliminary prediction: a coating of snow for the southern end of the valley, 2-6 inches with a little bit of ice on top for the mid-Hudson, and 4-8 inches of snow in the Catskills.
