Rockland Man Drowns In Seven Lakes: State Police

HAVERSTRAW, NY — A 43-year-old Sloatsburg resident died Sunday evening in Seven Lakes, New York State police said.

Park police and state troopers were called to the Sebago Boat Launch at 8:15 p.m. They were told a man was seen entering the water, attempting to swim and submerging. Someone who saw it jumped into the lake but was unable to locate him, police said.

The Thiells Fire Department and Water Rescue responded and began the search for Bogdan Kardynal. His body was found a short time later and the Rockland County Medical examiner declared him dead, police said.
