Today: Nyack School Board, Budget Voting

Tuesday is election day for Nyack Schools, and residents will have a say in the district's $72.6 million budget and two open seats on the school board.

The budget, which comes in about $270,000 under the state's two-percent tax cap, includes no teacher layoffs, although a handful of administrative posts would be slashed. Read the budget details .  

On the ballot for Nyack School Board are three candidates vying for two seats. Newcomers and are joined by sitting member and four-term veteran . (Click the hyperlinked names for details on the candidates.)

School Board members serve three-year terms and are not paid.

When and where to vote

• Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. 

• Locations are Depew Manor and Hilltop, Upper Nyack and Valley Cottage schools.

• You are registered if you've voted in a general or school election at your present address within the past four years.
