The Brieant Youth Alliance (BYA) is a not-for-profit organization established in 2009 to help young people make the most of their lives by providing them with opportunities for growth, leadership and learning. Several years ago Norman Fulton and the late Judge Charles L. Brieant embarked on a strategic plan to provide a music program for at-risk youth. It began with an eight-piece combo and the demand for more educational programs within the community quickly grew and we now serve over 2,400 kids. So after-school programs were developed and implemented within the Ossining school system and for youth incarcerated within Westchester County.

The mission of the Brieant Youth Alliance is to provide educational programs free of charge to children in areas of leadership, career exploration, conflict resolution without violence, homework assistance, nutrition, peer mediation and arts and music. The BYA Board partners with school administrators and educational consultants to develop and implement programs such as the Hudson Pride Program, a year-long expeditionary program about the importance of the Hudson River, Life Long Leaders Program, Career Exploration Program, Peer Mediation Program, Arts & Music, Nutrition Program and the Youth at Risk Program, a counseling program focusing on youth who are incarcerated in Westchester County.

Each year The Brieant Youth Alliance honors someone who embodies the same spirit of developing the leader in every child and teen. This year it is a privilege to honor United Parcel Services and to recognize Norman Fulton for the work that he has done throughout the years.

“UPS and Mr. Fulton have been invaluable assets to this organization who in the past year, have gone far beyond what was or could have been expected in contributing to the quality of life of the children that we have been able to touch with our programs,” said Diane Magri Fraser, Executive Director.

Guests will be treated to a cocktail hour from 6:30pm-7:30pm with dinner and music to follow. A raffle and silent auction will be held to help continue to provide quality programs at no cost to the schools and to our youth at risk who are incarcerated in Westchester County. This year’s Spring Gala is expected to draw many supporters, so please make your reservation now. Again, tickets are $140 per person and can be purchased online here.
