Chance of Snow After Temps Plummet in Hudson Valley

School openings and morning commute could be affected Friday.

Enjoy today’s weather, as most of the Hudson Valley will see temps near 50 degrees and then the freezer door will open.

"The cold is coming … get ready for it," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

Like the rest of the country, the Hudson Valley will experience below-normal temperatures for the next five days. In fact, highs for most the region will be below freezing (and only in the 20s over the weekend).

“The snow will fall during the predawn and morning hours on Friday from Boston to Washington,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Thompson said. “While this certainly will not be a major snowfall, the timing of this covering of snow will make many roads slippery for the Friday morning commute."
