Croton Fourth-Graders Get Hands on With Native American Culture
The learning activities were organized by the Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School PTA.

Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School fourth-graders learned about trading practices, crafted intricate necklaces, played traditional games and contemplated the use of artifacts as part of the Croton-Harmon School District’s first Native American Day on Oct. 3.
Thanks to the Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School PTA, students spent the day rotating between classrooms and the outdoors to participate in five unique activities as a way of familiarizing themselves with Native American culture as their studies shift to Native American history.
