Don't Miss: Sing Sing Swing, An ‘Up the River’ Cruise for a Good Cause

During an evening of song and dance, spirited folks will cruise the Hudson to help fund the creation of a Sing Sing Museum

Here's a unique opportunity to help fund the creation of a museum that will tell the story of the historic and infamous Sing Sing Prison.

Take a cruise Nov. 6 aboard a 600-passenger “hybrid” vessel that has two climate-controlled indoor decks for dancing and an outdoor observation deck for enjoying the fall scenery at sunset. Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks will perform danceable and evocative music from the 20s, 30s, and 40s — when jazz greats Cole Porter, Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong and many more created a truly American songbook.

Boarding for the Sing Sing cruise is from the Yonkers City Pier starting at 3:30 p.m. for a 4 p.m. departure. The cruise will travel north into the sunset, allowing guests to view Sing Sing from the water and to hear about plans for the museum. The return trip to Yonkers will sparkle with lights on both sides of the Hudson, docking at 8 p.m.

The Yonkers City Pier is located within easy walking distance of the Yonkers Train Station, so guests are encouraged to arrive by train, whether coming from New York City or points north. Parking near the pier is available, but somewhat limited.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Sing Sing Prison Museum that is currently under development. The museum, expected to attract visitors from around the world, will tell stories of punishment and reform over the prison’s 200-year history and provide a forum for discussion of contemporary criminal justice issues.
