Local Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts
Area synagogues donated items for Hurricane Harvey relief.
Boxes of donated items were collected by members of First Hebrew Congregation in Peekskill, Temple Beth Am in Yorktown, and Temple Beth Shalom in Mahopac. The Mohegan Lake Home Depot also donated supplies. The initiative came from Al Bergman, a past-president of First Hebrew who grew up in Houston and wanted to help with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The donations will be delivered to The Jewish Federation of Greater Houston for distribution.
