Sandy Galef and her Republican challenger, Kim Izzarelli, are making headlines this morning.

The race to become Ossining and Croton-on-Hudson's next assemblywoman is back in the news. Incumbent Democrat Sandy Galef held a news conference in Ossining to announce her support for a smoking ban on playgrounds. Supporting the measure in the upper house is Democratic Senator David Carlucci, who also attended the Ossining press conference. Carlucci is running for re-election against former Ossining Village Trustee and Deputy Mayor Janis Castaldi. You can read Galef's entire post .

Meanwhile, Galef's Republican challenger, Kim Izzarelli, is criticizing her rival. Izzarelli says Galef didn't show up to a radio interview on WVOX-AM. Izzarelli's camp says Galef has also passed on numerous opportunities to debate her Republican challenger. You can read Izzarelli's entire post .

The Town of Ossining has given its website a makeover. Town Supervisor Sue Donnelly says the new site isn't as busy as the old one. Donnelly believes that the new site will make it easier to find what you're looking for online. The website has been in existence for 12 years.
