Ossining to Offer Nutritious "Grab 'N' Go" Breakfast to Elementary School Students
The new "Grab 'N' Go Breakfast at the Bell" program starts Sept. 19.

Starting Monday, Sept. 19, the Ossining School District will offer a quick, nutritious and nut-free breakfast for elementary school students at Park, Brookside, Claremont and Roosevelt schools.
The district is implementing the “Grab ‘N’ Go Breakfast at the Bell” program to make it easier for students to eat breakfast. Children will grab the meal when they arrive and school and eat it in their classroom.
The cost of the Grab ‘N’ Go Breakfast is $1 for children who normally pay for breakfast and lunch, and free for those who are eligible for free lunches.

Research has found that skipping breakfast can negatively impact students’ cognitive performance, including in the areas of alertness, attention, memory, processing complex visual displays, problem-solving and math, according to the “Journal of School Health.”
“We are pleased to provide this opportunity for students and hope that many families take advantage of it,” said Assistant Superintendent for Business Alita McCoy Zuber.
