Shake-up at Ossining Village Hall

The village manager is out, as is the director of code enforcement.

Ossining Village Manager Abraham Zambrano has resigned, as has Alberto Ciraco, the village's Director of Code Enforcement.

Zambrano lasted 12 months. He was appointed to the post in May 2015.

The two resignations were reported Tuesday to residents in a letter from Mayor Victoria Gearity.

The village combined its building and planning departments at the beginning of the year, appointing Lynn Brooks-Avni as its head. The departure of Ciraco, who is pursuing other positions, Gearity said, will allow village officials to further modify the combined department.

She said village officials are searching for a replacement for him and seeing to fill three vacant positions in the department.

Paul Fraioli, who has been the village engineer for the past 15 years, has been named Interim Village Manager.

Gearity called the changes "significant and much-needed." The board believes they will create a "more positive and responsive relationship between our Planning and Building Department and the residents and business owners of Ossining."

Ossining Village and Town Hall is located at 16 Croton Avenue in Ossining, NY. The Village Manager’s office can be reached at 914-941-3554 or by visiting www.villageofossining.org.
