TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN, NY - It was a trashy new year for some residents in the Town of Brookhaven. In a press release from Brookhaven Town, officials said they were informed Tuesday at noon that the trash hauling company, Quick-Way sanitation, would not be honoring their contract to collect garbage from areas within the town, effective immediately.

The company collects the trash from homes in the communities of Shoreham, Rocky Point, Port Jefferson Station, Farmingville, East Patchogue and Manorville. These areas make up 20 percent of the carting districts within the Town of Brookhaven.
