Patchogue Man Busted In Valentine's Day Liquor Store Robbery: PD
He stole two bottles from a Selden store and when confronted, clocked a store clerk in the face, Suffolk police said.
PATCHOGUE, NY — A Patchogue man has been charged in the Valentine's Day robbery of a Selden liquor store, Suffolk police said.
Donte Harrell, 23, went inside Suffolk Wines and Liquor on Middle Country Road at about 1:33 p.m. and swiped a bottle of Casamigos, as well as a bottle of Hennessy brandy, and when a store clerk tried to stop him, he punched the man in the face, according to police. It was initially reported to police that Harrell placed his hand inside of his pocket and threatened the use of a gun, but a spokeswoman could not conform that the claim was substantiated.
Harrell left in a car driven away by an accomplice, police said.

During the scuffle with Harrell, the store clerk fell, causing him to bruise his hand, but it is unclear if he required medical attention, according to police.
Harrell was charged with second-degree robbery, a felony, on Wednesday, police said.

An order of protection has been issued and Harrell is due back in court on March 1, according to online court records.
