UPDATE: Man Who Left Hospital Found Safe
Richard Gallo is believed to be mentally unstable, police say.
UPDATE 11 a.m.: Police say Gallo has been located. They did not say where he was found.
Police are searching for a 28-year-old man who left a Nassau County hospital on his own accord Saturday night.
According to police, Richard Gallo, who is believed to be mentally unstable, was last seen at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, where he was taken to be treated for a laceration to his neck.

Gallo, of Pondview Road in Patchogue, left the hospital around 11:50 p.m. Saturday and was possibly headed back to his residence, police said.
Gallo is described as white, 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds. He has fair skin, hazel eyes, black hair and a beard.

Police are asking anyone with information about Gallo to contact the Nassau County Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
