VA Hospital in Montrose on National "Top Performer" List
It's the fourth year in a row VA Hudson Valley has made the list—one of only 314 hospitals nationwide to do so.

The Joint Commission has recognized VA Hudson Valley Health Care System as a 2013 Top Performer on “Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission,” the third consecutive year VA Hudson Valley has earned the distinction. The commission notified VA Hudson Valley of the award Nov. 13.
This recognition is part of The Joint Commission’s 2014 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for hospital-based inpatient psychiatric and immunizations. VA Hudson Valley Health Care System is one of 1,224 hospitals in the United States to achieve the 2013 “Top Performer” distinction.

VA Hudson Valley consists of two main campuses here and in Castle Point, New York, as well as seven community based outpatient clinic located in seven New York counties. VA Hudson Valley serves about 25,000 Veterans each year and has about 1,600 employees.

The “Top Performer” program recognizes hospitals for improving performance on evidence-based interventions that increase the chances of healthy outcomes for patients with certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, children’s asthma, stroke, venous thromboembolism and perinatal care, as well as for inpatient psychiatric services and immunizations.
VA Hudson Valley is one of 712 hospitals to achieve the “Top Performer” distinction for the past two consecutive years; and one of 314 hospitals to achieve the Top Performer distinction for the past three consecutive years.
