Davis Vision Moves 100 Jobs to Texas

100 workers affected as company consolidates operations

Davis Vision is moving its headquarters from Plainview to San Antonio, Texas, the company has announced.

It said that 100 administrative employees would be affected by the move, with some workers expected to relocate. The company said it would continue to have more than 1,300 workers at Davis Vision and Empire Vision continue working in New York State.

The sales and client management operations will remain in Plainview or branch offices. The Plainview manufacturing operations are not affected.

“For the last three years, we have been evolving and strengthening our organization to ensure customers and health care providers receive the best possible products and services we can make available, “ said Davis Vision President Steve Holden. “Bringing the managed vision care resources of Davis Vision closer to our parent’s retail and distribution operations will enable us to provide customer solutions that are innovative, appropriate and cost-effective.”

The move is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter, 2012.

 “The corporate and administrative associates who will be impacted by this move have been strong contributors to our company’s success over the years,” said Holden. “We hope that many of them will be able to take advantage of the new job opportunities we will provide in San Antonio. This move promises to create an environment full of opportunities that will not only benefit those associates who chose to move, but our entire family of vision companies.”

Davis Vision is part of the HVHC Inc. group of companies, which also includes Viva International Group and Eye Care Centers of America.
