1.      Jack and the Princess Who Never Laughed

Why Go:  Bring a chair or blanket and a picnic and see Kate Freligrath-Kroeker’s  childrens play in which talking swans and fairy tale fun collide as Jack sets out in search of his new life.  Ages 5 and up.

2.      Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars

Where/When: Westfield Sunrise Shopping Mall, One Sunrise Mall, Massapequa, 888-332-5200, Friday July 8-10 @ 5 and 8 p.m.

Why Go: Laugh with the clowns and marvel at the feats of daring performances at the circus that has been around for over 100 years, for children and adults of all ages.

3.      Children’s Festival and Safety Day

Why Go: Entertainment, games, and food

4.      Shady Storybook Stroll

Where/When: Old Westbury Gardens, 71 Old Westbury Rd., Old Westbury, 516-333-0048, oldwestburygardens.org., Saturday July 9 @ noon.

Why Go:  As Winnie the Pooh and some bees, follow the antics and learn how works with gardens horticulture team. Craft a bee buzzer to entice bees to visit your own backyard.

5.      Feathered Family Fun

Where/When: Long Island Children’s Museum, 11 Davis Avenue, East Garden City, 516-224-5800, LICM.org, Friday July 8 @1-4 p.m.

Why Go: Design a family birdhouse using wood pieces, paint and other material, for children ages 3 and older.
