School Board Race in Home Stretch

Patch offers complete coverage of events and issues leading up to Tuesday's voting.

The school board election and budget vote campaigns reach its climax Monday, one day before the voters go to the polls. Patch will be providing full coverage of the issues and events today and tomorrow.

1. It's the day before suburban districts around the state go to the polls to vote on school spending packages and school board members. has offered of this issues over the past weeks. Today and tomorrow we'll be summarizing the race and The polls open Tuesday.

2. , recently recovered from from a week of delays due to track problems in an East River tunnel, puts new schedules in place Monday to accommodate summer track and signal work. Generally, mid-day trains are the only ones impacted. See our story on the changes here.

3. It is a mitzvah to enable people to say Kaddish, and theasks your help to make that happen. Morning minyans take place at 6:30 a.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Evening minyans are at 8 p.m. Sunday to Thursday.
