Two artists featured at Plainview Library
Synagogues welcome Shabbat; one offers open house today.
You can take in an art exhibit without heading to the city today. The Plainview Library is offering a gallery of water colors and photos from two talented local artists.

1. The is offering a daily exhibit of the watercolors of award winning artist Susan Sterber and the photographs of artist Susan Tiffen. Both are Town of Oyster Bay residents whose work is rotating through town libraries during June. Free; open to all.
2 Like synagogues all over our community, the welcomes Shabbat on Friday. The Y's "Shabbat in the Lobby" service of songs, candles and blessings is at 3:15 p.m. and open to the public.

3. continues its open house Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. It's an opportunity for family members to look into joining the synagogue this year or offering their children a Jewish education.
4. A new exhibit at the features more than 50 photos of photographer The event runs daily through Sept. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. And, the museum is screening six films in collaboration with the. All six films complement the Avedon exhibit. For a complete listing of these films, click here.
