
Residents in the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District will vote on the $146,035,602 proposed budget for the 2015-16 school year on Tuesday, May 19.
The proposal calls for a .97 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a .22 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap.
Four candidates are vying for two open seats on the POB Board of Education.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Jamaica Avenue School, Old Bethpage Elementary School and Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School.
