U.S. News Ranks Pleasantville High School as One of the Best in Westchester

Another judgement is out on the top high schools in New York State as U.S. News & World Report released its rankings Tuesday.

Pleasantville High School is among them.

The latest rankings, released Tuesday, put the school at No. 36 in New York State and No. 253 in the country.

Rankings are based on student to teacher ratios, college readiness with regard to Advanced Placement exam scores, and proficiency in mathematics and English.

Of the 70 percent of Pleasantville High School students who take AP exams, 61 percent of them pass, according to the report. About 96 percent of students are proficient in math and 94 percent are proficient in English.

The school has a 12:1 student to teacher ratio.

There were 439 New York high schools that made the rankings.
