Port Chester/Rye NAACP to Hold Town Hall Meeting October 16

The second in a series of town hall meetings will be at St. Peter's Church at 7pm

Earlier this year, a hateful flyer was allegedly distributed in Port Chester. Shortly afterward, a resident flew the Nazi SS Flag to celebrate Germany winning the World Cup in South America. These and flare ups around the country, most notably in Ferguson, MO. prompted the NAACP to hold town hall meetings as a way to bring residents together to ask tough questions and to offer solutions.

One town hall was held September 25 at the Port Chester Senior Community Center to a small crowd. The next one will be at St. Peter’s Church at 7pm on Thursday, October 16 at 7pm.  All are welcome.  Mayor Pagano, Chief Conway and Mark Fang of the Westchester County Human Rights Commission are scheduled to be on hand.  The event is free. Spanish translation will be available.
