Cocaine, Heroin, Oxycodone, $200,000 in Cash Seized From Coram Apartment, Father and Son Arrested: Police

Police executed a search warrant at a Coram apartment on Friday.

CORAM, NY- A 40-year-old Coram man had 730 grams of cocaine, 318 grams of heroin, 36 grams of oxycodone and $200,000 in cash inside his apartment, Suffolk Police said Saturday in announcing the arrest of Joseph Fearon and his son, 23-year-old Jasheme Fearon.

According to police, a search warrant was executed at an apartment located at 1902 Avalon Pine Drive on Friday.

Joseph Fearon was charged with two counts of first degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, four counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of second degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Jasheme Fearon, of 92 Wilson Ave. in Middle Island, was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second degree criminal impersonation. He had also been wanted on a New York State parole warrant and a bench warrant.

The father and son will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.

Suffolk County Police Acting Commissioner Tim Sini is expected to release more details on the arrests during a press conference Saturday morning.

Sini, along with Suffolk County Legis. Sarah Anker, will also be unveiling a new initiative that was successfully used in this incident, police said. This initiative, which allows the Precinct Special Operations Team (SOT) to execute search warrants, will ensure the police department is more responsive to community concerns about known problem drug locations, police said.
