Party Host Charged After 2 Underage Guests Hospitalized

Two people were hospitalized for alcohol poisoning and another reportedly needed to be revived from an overdose with Narcan, police say.

PORT JEFFERSON, NY - A Bay Shore man was arrested for hosting a party in Port Jefferson during which two 20-year-olds were hospitalized for excessive alcohol consumption early Sunday, according to Suffolk Police.

Officers responded to a complaint of a loud party at 1104 High St. at 1:40 a.m. Police say the party was hosted by 22-year-old Robert Egan.

There were a total of 100 people at the party, many of whom were underage, police said.

Two 20-year-old men had become ill from alcohol consumption and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

News 12 reported that another person who was found in the basement of the home was revived with Narcan after an opioid overdose at the frat party.

Police arrested and charged Egan with violating the Social Host Law, police said.

He was transported to the Sixth Precinct where he was released on bail. Egan is scheduled to be arraigned on Jan. 9, 2018.
