Man Killed In Suffolk Crash: Police

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

CORAM, NY — A man was killed in a car crash Saturday night in Coram, the Suffolk County Police Department said.

Martin Tiess, 57, of Mount Sinai, was walking with a bicycle on northbound Route 112 when he was hit by a northbound 2001 Nissan Suburban around 9:10 p.m., police said. Tiess was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant.

The driver of the Nissan, Troy Norr, 50, of Manorville, and a female passenger were not injured, police said. The Nissan was impounded for a safety check.
