Man Sells Alcohol To Minors At Suffolk Bar: Police
Suffolk Police worked with the State Liquor Authority to investigate the bar.
PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Suffolk Police arrested a man while investigating Portside Bar and Grill in Port Jefferson with the State Liquor Authority on Saturday morning, they said.
In response to community complaints, Suffolk Police and the SLA investigated underage drinking at the bar, located at 242 E. Main St., around 2 a.m., police said.
Christopher Chernis, 34, of Holbrook, was charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child. He was issued a field appearance ticket and released. The owners of the bar were cited for numerous ABC violations by the State Liquor Authority.
