
A 43-year-old Mount Sinai man was killed when his car crashed into a tree and pole in Mount Sinai on Sunday evening, police said.
According to police, Edward Drumgole was driving a 2010 Honda Accord south on Chestnut Street when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree at about 5 p.m. The vehicle spun around, hit a pole and then came to rest on the front lawn of 132 Chestnut Street, police said.
Drumgole was transported by Port Jefferson Ambulance to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, where he was pronounced dead.
