A+ For Port Jefferson Mathletes
Earl L. Vandermeulen High School's Mathletes team enjoyed another successful season.

PORT JEFFERSON, NY - From Port Jefferson School District: Earl L. Vandermeulen High School’s Mathletes team enjoyed another successful season, with the A team – consisting of the top five math students at the school –placing third in the Small School Division and seventh overall in the Suffolk County Mathematics Teachers Association contest.
Coached by high school math teacher Dennis Christofor, 25 students in grades 9-12 competed in five competitions with six challenging questions throughout the winter.
Among the A team, Annalisa Welinder placed 12th in Suffolk County, scoring 20 out of 30 correct. Eli Doyle and Ibuki Iwasaki placed 29th in the county, scoring 17 out of 30 correct. They competed with more than 800 students who participate in high school Mathletes in Suffolk.
