Earl L. Vandermeulen High School golf team member Shane DeVincenzo capped off a tremendous season with a sixth-place finish in the NYSPHAA high school golf championship, held at Cornell University. During the competition, DeVincenzo battled through tough weather conditions to end the day with a total 151. In addition to his sixth placement, he secured All-State honors and a chance to play in the Federation Cup at Bethpage Black. "Shane's success is a direct result of a tireless work ethic and desire to be the best. He handled himself like a pro and I couldn't be prouder," said coach Charles Ruoff.
