Antonia Petrash 2016 Trailblazer Award Recipient.
In celebration of Women's History Month, each Nassau County Legislator selects a woman of distinction within their respective districts.

These women have all gone above and beyond the norm, whether with regard to volunteerism or within their respective professions, usually both.
Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton selected Antonia Petrash for her tireless dedication to educating the public about the women’s suffrage movement. A key focus of Petrash is to ensure young women are aware of the struggle so many women endured nearly 100 years ago that many take for granted today: the right to vote.
She has always been very interested in women’s history and enjoys sharing her extensive knowledge through her writings, lectures and otherwise. Antonia particularly enjoys celebrating the lives of women who have made important and lasting contributions in the world.
