In a continuing investigation, Suffolk County Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man they say was armed with a machete, dressed as a woman, and stole a vehicle at knifepoint from a Huntington Station man in October.
Police say a Willets Place resident was approached by the man in his driveway on Oct. 29, at approximately 6:30 a.m. The man demanded the victim to turn over his car keys and when the victim refused, the man forced the victim to drive him in the vehicle. A short time later, the victim pulled over the vehicle on Sunnywoods Drive and Pigeon Hill Road in Huntington Station and was able to escape.
The suspect fled in the vehicle, a 2012 Honda Odyssey, which was later recovered in the parking lot of St. Anthony’s High School, and the victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Huntington Hospital, police say.
