Police: Roslyn Heights Bank Robber Nabbed

The robbery occurred Tuesday morning.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a Roslyn Heights bank robbery that occurred Tuesday morning, police said.

Darren Lindo, of Roslyn Heights, was arrested Wednesday and was charged with third degree robbery.

According to authorities, the Lindo entered First National Bank of Long Island, located at 130 Mineola Ave., and demanded money from a teller at 9:42 a.m.

Lindo told the teller he had a gun, but no weapon was displayed, police said.

He fled on foot eastbound on Villa Place with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The five employees and one customer inside the bank at the time of the robbery were uninjured.

Lindo will be arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
