The funds will be used to renovate and expand its children's library.

The Port Washington Library will use $118,000 in state aid to renovate and expand its children's library.

“The Port Washington Library provides great service to the community, especially through its programs for children," Sen. Elaine Phillips said in a press release. "This new funding will enable the library to make important new improvements that will benefit children and families throughout the Port Washington community."

Port Washington Library Director Nancy Curtin said the project to improve the Jackie and Harold Spielman Children's Library is the library's most important undertaking since 2000. "The funding provided by the Library Construction Aid grant program is a tremendous help in meeting our financial goal,” she said.
