9pm- Taylor Elliot
Genre: Folk, blues, americana
For fans of: Neil Young, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, Nick Drake, Mississippi John Hurt
Hailing from James Dean country in Indiana, Taylor Elliott began writing and playing music at an early age, influenced by the likes of Rev. Gary Davis, John Hurt, Dave Van Ronk, and other greats of Delta blues and folk music. With contemporary, colorful lyrics set against an old fashioned, yet timeless style of guitar playing, Taylor knows that what he's doing is nothing new, but believes this kind of music tends to be forgotten in a world saturated with cookie-cutter electronic pop music. The feel and heart behind a song is more important than how pretty it sounds, and this is a belief Taylor Elliott tries to live by in his music.

Recent west coast transplants, “The Prospect Jug Peddlers” blend ragtime, blues and vintage jazz to create a unique sound more reminiscent of something you’d find in Tin Pan Alley during the 1920s than anything relative in today’s world. Don’t let the juxtaposition of baldness and dreadlocks throw you; these guys have got that ragtime swing that’ll keep you and yer miss dancin’ all night. Featuring the New Jersey darling “Miss Schmidt” on mandolin.

Declan McLaughlin, the former frontman of Derry, N. Ireland’s power-pop band ‘The Whole Tribe Sings,” brings much of his original material to the stage at TWS. McLaughlin’s songs bob-and-weave between humor and hard knocks to a rapid beat and just plain good harmony. Declan’s note from across the pond, “Ah come on...let’s have a bunch of fun.” Let’s do!!!
