Police: Man Arrested for Assaulting Coworker at Long Island Aquarium

Incident occurred early Saturday morning.

Police were called to the Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center in Riverhead early Saturday morning after a Nesconset man allegedly assaulted a coworker with a handheld portable radio.

A 911 call came into the Riverhead Police Department at 12:51 a.m. reporting that three or four people were involved in a fight, with one person possibly injured.

Following an investigation, police determined that two employees of Atlantis Catering and Banquets, which is based at the aquarium on East Main Street, had been fighting.

Casey Luther, of Nesconset, was arrested and charged with second degree assault. The 30-year-old is accused of hitting an 18-year-old coworker with the portable radio. Luther was held was arraignment at Riverhead Justice Court on Saturday. Police did not report any injuries.
