A member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, and founded more than a century ago by the Sisters of the Congregation of the Infant Jesus, Mercy Medical Center provides a full range of medical and surgical services including 24-hour Emergency and Express Care for adults and children. 

The hospital is a New York State-designated Stroke Center, and the recipient of a Get With The Guidelines ®- Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association.


Mercy also is a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence designated by the American College of Radiology, and Mercy's Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program has received a coveted Outstanding Achievement Award from The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.


Mercy is the recipient of an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons and provides cancer care in collaboration with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, which has been providing state-of-the-art outpatient medical and radiation oncology services at Mercy since 1997.


The hospital is home to a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - the only such facility on the south shore of Nassau County, providing complex care for some 300 premature and sick newborns, in a mother-baby program that delivers more than 1,200 babies each year.


Mercy also is home to the largest inpatient acute rehabilitation program on the south shore of Nassau County, offering superior care for stroke, spinal cord injury, hip fracture, disabling arthritis, neurological disorders, and recuperation from orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery.


Mercy is a leader in weight-loss surgery, designated as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence® by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
