Update: Rye Schools Reopened After Monday Bomb Threat
Over recent months, the district has been plagued with bomb threats.

Updated at 12:42 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015: Rye students returned to class just before noon on Monday, following the morning’s latest bomb threat, Superintendent Dr. Frank Alvarez said in an email.
Original story: Rye High and Middle schools were evacuated Monday morning due to another bomb threat, at least the fourth this school year.
Police are investigating, according to School Superintendent Dr. Frank Alvarez, who said in an email that the district would update the situation as soon as possible.

Over recent months, the district has been plagued with bomb threats, none of which turned up any explosive devices. In January, Alvarez sent a letter to parents explaining what officials are doing to eradicate them.

“These bomb threats constitute a criminal act; and there are active, ongoing Police investigations into all three of them at both the Rye Police and Westchester County Police level,” Alvarez wrote. “We fully expect that when a perpetrator is identified in one or more of these incidents, there will be an arrest.”
