HRHCare, Rye YMCA and Rockland County DOH Launch Pre-Diabetes Awareness Campaign
With nine out of ten individuals with prediabetes unaware that they have it, Hudson Community Health Alliance raises pre-diabetes awareness.

Hudson Community Health Alliance, of which HRHCare Community Health is the lead agency, is pleased to announce the launch of a pre-diabetes awareness campaign across Westchester and Rockland Counties. In addition to a large-scale advertising campaign that will cover the region, diabetes prevention classes will be available to registered participants at HRHCare Health Centers in Yonkers and Haverstraw in partnership with the Rye YMCA and the Rockland County Department of Health.
These weekly group meetings are designed to empower participants to change their lifestyle to prevent type 2 diabetes. The sessions will be led by a trained Lifestyle Coach and will offer participants motivation and support to effectively reduce the risk of diabetes and lead to a happier, healthier life. Available in both English and Spanish, the Yonkers Diabetes Prevention Program will be held at the HRHCare Park Care Health Center at Yonkers, 2 Park Avenue, beginning in September. The program will also be available in English for Rockland residents on Thursdays beginning September 22nd at the HRHCare Health Center at Haverstraw, 31 W. Broad Street.
Call today, to find out if you are eligible to enroll for an upcoming Diabetes Prevention Program. For the Yonkers class, contact Tanya Stack at the Rye YMCA at 914.967.6363 ext. 206. For the Haverstraw class, contact the Rockland County Department of Health at 845.364.2651.
