It looked like the Davy Byrnes Rum Runners were on their way to posting their first victory of the season until Rye Brook came back to win 8-7 in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday.
"I'm in a good mood because we won," said Rye Brook Coach Lauren Dzilinski.
In the game at Rye High School, Davy Byrnes Rum Runners' Coach April Robbins was frustrated about the loss.

"It was very bad," she said. "We play again Friday, it will give us another chance."
Val Sabato had the base hit that brought in Meaghan Maloney for the 8-7 victory after Robbins walked two batters in the bottom of the sixth.

Sabato was also key in left field with several catches to keep Rye Brook's hopes alive. Amy Low, Pam Peligri, and Debbie Jond also helped out in the field.
Sami Yerks and Shannon Robbins contributed to Davy Byrnes' effort.
It was a tough day for the Rum Runners however, who were a man down and playing with nine players while Rye Brook had substitutes available.
"It takes its toll," Robbins said.
Rye Brook led 4-2 after the first inning before Davy Byrnes went ahead 6-4 in the top of the fourth.
Patti O'Callaghan made it 7-4 for the Rum Runners until a Tiffani Troilo single scored Rye Brook's Marnie Korp and Jamie Florindi to tie it at 7-7 before Robbins walked two batters, giving Rye Brook the eventual 8-7 win.
Robbins pitched seven innings for Davy Byrnes, striking out two.
Lauren Dzilinski also pitched seven innings for Rye Brook.
Rye Brook improves to 5-4 on the season and goes for its sixth win next Thursday against first place F and A who lost its first game this week, 2-1, against the Pub Ryots.
Davy Byrnes falls to 0-8 and will look for its first win Friday in a 6:30 p.m. makeup game against the Legal Eagles at Rye's Disbrow Park.
