UPDATE: Saturday, Jan. 23 at 3:33 p.m.
The City of Rye declared a snow emergency effective Saturday, Jan. 23 at 9:30 a.m.
Residents are requested to park their vehicles in driveways and off city streets to allow snow removal crews to plow and clear snow.

It appears we’ll be going to sleep Saturday to snow falling in Rye.
(Too bad the football playoffs weren’t on Saturday, it would have been a perfect day for it with many of us snowed in.)
As of 11AM, the National Weather Service predicted accumulation of 24-30 inches locally.

If a power line falls on a car or vehicle you’re in, don’t get out, and don’t touch anything outside it. The vehicle’s rubber tires will provide insulation and protect you until help arrives. Wait for police, fire, or emergency service workers.
