F & A also swept the Pub Ryots in two games for the women's softball title Tuesday. The Ryots would not go down easy however, facing the same team they handed their first loss of the season to on July 6 in the form of a 2-1 victory. It was the Ryots second trip to the final round after last reaching the championship series their first year in the league 25 years ago. A 7-1 victory in the first game Monday led to a 14-3 rout in the second Tuesday for F & A's second consecutive league crown and a 14-1 final record.

Rye Babe Ruth

Rye Babe Ruth baseball just completed its 2010 summer season.  Its three summer travel teams, 13u, 15u and 18u, finished with a .500 cumulative record, pretty impressive considering that they competed in the Westchester Baseball Association league this summer, which includes a heavy representation of club and well-respected town teams. RBR is currently looking to put together its teams for one last round of baseball as the fall season commences the weekend after Labor Day.

 Rye Brook Summer League Teams

 Eight and Under

Rye Brook eight and under baseball went 1-1 in the playoffs this year. After splitting their last two games of the regular season, which included a 4-3 loss to Port Chester before a 14-1 routing of Mount Pleasant. Rye Brook earned redemption in the post-season over Mt. Pleaesant, 10-2, before losing a close 10-9 battle at the hands of Pleasantville.

 Nine and Under White

The nine and under whites won the WBA (Westchester Baseball Association) 2010 Summer Championship in a 5-0 shutout victory over Kensico Wednesday. Rye Brook finished their 11-7 championship season with three straight shutouts after narrowly losing to the Pelham White team 8-6 last Tuesday. The first win came 22-0 over New Canaan Friday, followed by a 12-0 defeat over Dobbs Ferry in the first round of the playoffs Sunday before the 5-0 championship victory.

 Nine and Under Blue

The nine and under blues also had a fairly successful run in the 2010 WBA playoffs as they reached the championship game but fell short to Mount Pleasant 7-3 Tuesday, ending the season at 11-3. Victories to get to the ultimate game included a 10-0 rout over the Pelham Gold team Saturday, and an 11-6 win against New Castle Sunday before the 7-3 defeat.

 10 and Under

The Rye Brook 10 and Under baseball team was not so fortunate, ending the season on a two-game losing streak, one being a 7-5 defeat to the Hillcrest White team in their regular season finale before suffering their second consecutive loss, 6-4 over the Pelham Gold's  Saturday for a final season record of 9-4-1. Rye Brook should be good to go next season thanks to a three-game winning streak prior to the two losses.

 12 and Under

The 12 and unders had a tough time in the playoffs, only making it to one game that resulted in an 11-0 shutout to the Pelham Bay Pirates for a 7-9-1 season finish.

 13 and Under

The Rye Brook 13 and unders were the second team to win a 2010 WBA Championship. Rye Brook won its final six games of the season as it headed to victory. The most recent victories include a two-game, double-header sweep over Rye Babe Ruth to finish the regular season at 15-12. Rye was limited to one run in each game as Rye Brook won 5-1 in the first game and 8-1 in the second heading into the post-season, where they edged the Elmsford Raiders 6-5 Monday and the Diamond Buddies Red Team 3-2 Tuesday before beating Larchmont/Mamaroneck 11-4 to clinch their championship and an 18-12 final season record.

16 and Under

The sixteen and unders won two of three games this week , including a 7-0 shutout over Harrison, and an 8-3 victory over Greenwich before losing 9-5 to Yorkville to currently stand at a 16-15 season record.
