For the last 2 years Marc Gilbert, Commander of VFW Post 433 has invited my dad , a 90 yr old World War 2 US Navy Seabee veteran, and myself to their annual Barbques and Christmas Parties. They invite all the vets from the Veteran homes in Northport and StoneyBrook to join in the festivities. These are wonderful events that I don't think get enough recognition and I'd like to use this forum to just give a sincere thank you to Marc , all the Post officers and members and volunteers who put these events on. Also thanks to Sayville Highs Mr Huggins who every year sends over student volunteers to help out and talk to the Vets in order to hear history from the heros who lived though it and served our Country in order to preserve freedom for future generations. Also thanks to the Country Line dancers who perform at the events for the veterans entertainment. It's truely a great thing to see these veterans smile and enjoy day out with their comrades. My dad looks foward to these events and really appreciate the Posts members efforts and dedication to honoring Americas heros. Thanks again to all involved in these events. God Bless America. I think the Patch should do an article in the future to show all the good work that our local VFW Post does. It would surely be a "feel good" story for the patch. Too many sad police blotter and accident stories lately. Sincerely BILL
