About the book:
In this debut bilingual poetry collection, poet Sitlali delves into the life of an Ecuadorian-Chicano (or, Indigenous) navigating boyhood, identity, heartbreak, tinnitus, and an uncertain future quelled only by dreams and prophecies.
"Relatos, Lamentos, y Profecias" paints the life of many a Latino living in the United States' story. From the determined Mexican immigrant, to the heartbroken American-born Ecuadorian teenager, to the sketchbook dwelling half-Salvadoreña, and the revolutionary Puertorriqueña, all folks have a story waiting to be told in verse and prose.
About the author
Born to Mexican and Ecuadorian descent, Sitlali is a poet and author who wishes to tell the tales of brown boyhood, immigrants from all over America Latina, and the continued struggle for the ever elusive "American Dream" under growing fascism and late-stage capitalism.
