E. Patchogue Man Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run
Man arrested Wednesday for hit-and-run in Coram earlier this week, police say

An East Patchogue man was arrested on Wednesday and charged in a hit-and-run in Coram last week that killed a pedestrian, police said.
Abdelgheni Dakyouk, 48, is charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting involving a fatality.
According to police, Dakyouk’s vehicle struck a man who was walking on Route 112 between Granny Road and Route 25 in Coram shortly before 6 a.m. last Saturday.

The man who was hit has not yet been positively identified, but police have said he is believed to be a 37-year-old from Medford.
Dakyouk was being held at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court on Thursday.
