Town Honors Sayville High School Football Team
Golden Flashes recognized for their outstanding season that was capped with a record setting win in the Long Island title game.

Islip Town officials honored the Sayville High School football team, which recently won the Division III Long Island championship.
Head coach Rob Hoss and Sayville Athletic Director Dennis Maloney were on hand along with dozens of players to accept the honor from Town Supervisor Phil Nolan and the Town Council. The Golden Flashes just completed an undefeated season and beat Westhampton Beach for the Suffolk County title and Lawrence for the Long Island Championship.
βThis group of high school students came together to achieve something very special,β said Supervisor Nolan. βHaving watched the county championship game in person I can affirm this an outstanding high school football team.β

In the Long Island title game, the Golden Flashes defeated Lawrence 78-61. The two teams set a number of records including total points scored by two teams in a Long Island high school football title game. Sayvilleβs Zach Sirico scored a record 40 points in the game.
