2 Busted for DWI On Saturday of July 4 Weekend: Southampton Police

One man was charged with a felony, police said.

Police arrested two drunk drivers on Saturday during the July 4 weekend in Southampton Town, police said.

- According to Southampton Town Police, Samantha J. Zarakotas, 23, of Riverhead, was arrested at 12:52 a.m. on Flanders Road after she was seen operating at a high rate of speed and failing to maintain her lane.

She was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, speed in zone, a violation, failure to maintain lane, a violation, and unreasonable speed, a violation, police said.

Zarakotas was arrested and taken to Southampton Town Police headquarters,where she was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.

- Also on Saturday at 1:44 a.m., Adrian Saquimush Aju, 43, of Westhampton Beach, was seen driving east on Old Country Road and failing to maintain his lane of travel; he was stopped and found to be intoxicated, police said.

He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, first degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, and moving from lane unsafely, a violation, police said.

He was taken to Southampton Town Police headquarters for processing and held for arraignment, police said.
