3 Nabbed for Driving Drunk Sunday: Police
Southampton Town Police cuffed three and charged them with DWI over the weekend, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY - In an ongoing effort to crack down on drunk driving on the East End, Southampton Town Police charged three with driving while intoxicated over the weekend, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the following arrests were made:
- Southampton Town Police arrested Santiago A. Gonzalez, 39, of Brookhaven on Sunday at 6:55 p.m., on Lake Avenue in Riverside. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and traffic infractions, police said. Gonzalez was stopped for traffic infractions and subsequent investigation revealed that his license was suspended and that he was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition, police said. He was arrested at the scene, transported to police headquarters for processing, and held for morning arraignment, police said.
- Also on Sunday, at 7:34 p.m. on Montauk Hwy in Hampton Bays, Southampton Town Police said they arrested Amanda N. Jones, 24, of Mastic Beach, and charged her with DWI, a misdemeanor. Jones was stopped for a traffic infration and subsequent investigation revealed she was operating her vehicle in an intoxicated condition, police said. She was arrested at the scene, transported to police headquarters for processing, and held for morning arraignment, police said.
- Finally, also on Sunday, at 9:35 p.m., on Shinnecock Road in Hampton Bays, Southampton Town Police arrested Irene T. Halstrom, 73, of New York and charged her with DWI, a misdemeanor, police said. Halstrom was stopped for a traffic infraction and subsequent investigation revealed she was operating her vehicle in an intoxicated condition, police said. She was arrested at the scene, transported to police headquarters for processing, and held for morning arraignment, police said.
