Drunk Driver Found Stopped Across Two Lanes in Southampton: Police

The man was found in the travel portion of North Magee Street, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY - A Southampton man was nabbed for driving drunk after he was found stopped on North Magee Street, blocking both lanes, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, Matthew Magee, 28, of Southampton was arrested at 12:59 a.m. on North Main Street in North Sea.

Police said Magee was observed stopped in the travel portion of North Magee St., blocking both lanes.

Upon investigation it was learned that Magee was intoxicated, police said. He was transported to the Southampton Town police headquarters for arrest processing and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor and being parked/stopped in the travel portion of the road, a violation, police said.

Magee was held for morning arraignment, police said.
